The client’s engineers often face maintenance or repair issues that require consulting a vast array of manuals, a time-consuming and cumbersome process.

Client recognized the need to provide employees with faster, more accurate access to critical info about their industrial equipment, operations, & procedures.

Solutions

EX Squared’s AI experts tackled the project head-on:

Developed an advanced question-answering system with a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) process harnessing the power of ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs) along with semantic search techniques. Key innovation areas included contextual parsing into sections and paragraphs, multi-header table parsing, fine-tuned embeddings, vector & BM25 search algorithms, vector DB storage of embedded content, and more.

Analyzed the client’s equipment manuals to identify key areas for improvement, and designed an effective document-chunking strategy and table parsing approach.

Conducted rigorous testing & validation to ensure the system's accuracy and reliability as per standard evaluation metrics by TruLens and Ragas.

Deployed the application with Docker containers, which can be hosted on any cloud infrastructure or private cloud.

Results​

EX Squared solved a complex problem by creating an advanced AI question-answering system with semantic search techniques. The end result provides fast, accurate and relevant results for engineers working in the field.
